Released in April 2006, Nike’s Dunk Low Pro “Eire” sneakers pay homage to the Easter Rising, a historical insurrection that took place in Ireland ninety years prior. Boasting the style’s iconic retro skate shoe silhouette, they are rendered in the colours of the Irish flag, comprising a white suede base overlaid with green linen panels and an orange Swoosh logo to the side. Also nodding to the Celtic theme is the Irish Harp on the lateral heel and ‘Éire’, the Gaelic word for Ireland, embroidered on the heel tab.
